Throwing Coins

  • Pick three coins, each of the same variety.
  • Toss all three at once.
  • Heads is Yang, Tails is Yin. Normally the coin’s denomination is displayed on Tails (rear).
  • If one is Yang, the roll is “New Yang”, denoted as an unbroken line ”---“.
  • If one is Yin, the roll is “New Yin”, denoted as a broken line ”- -“.
  • If three Yang, the roll is Old/Changing Yang, denoted as a line that will become broken: “-o-”.
  • If three Yin, it’s Old/Changing Yin, or “-x-”.

The first roll represents the first or bottom line. The last (sixth) roll is the top line.
